Lulu Disappears Sister. Or Fun With Photobucket.

Lulu was caught using her magic powers this morning, and thanks to a super-duper camera equipped with a fancy lens, I was able to capture the whole thing.

As you can see, Lulu first brought about a bright light in which to distract Coco, and within an instant, the trance rendered her sister defenseless. The rest is history.

Thankfully, Lulu isn't very practiced with her magic skills and we found Coco in the next room, confused but content, working on a stuffed Kong.

The End.

  1. The HSUS doesn't deserve to be trashed by pit bull advocates. This organization works against breed-specific legislation and has led the charge to shut down dogfighters. I understand why it goes against popular opinion to euthanize animals seized in dogfighting raids (after all, they have suffered so much already), but safety concerns and liability issues have to play a role in the conversation. If we want pit bulls to be more widely accepted and celebrated, we must focus on breed ambassadors, including the many pit bulls unaffiliated with training rings who are languishing in animal shelters across the country.

  2. Hillary, thank you for commenting on my blog.

As for the HSUS and my posts that have "trashed" the organization, you and I are likely to disagree on the matter for several reasons.

Sadly, I am aware of the situation that awaits "bust dogs" when they are removed from a dog fighter's ownership; the likelihood is great that not all of them can/will be adopted, so your point is well taken.

That said, my contempt for the HSUS goes well beyond their call for the automatic killing of the Pit bulls confiscated from dog fighting busts, and I am well aware of the recent change to this long-standing policy. As it is, the HSUS' "interim policy" of suggesting jurisdictions evaluate each "bust" dog individually is a step in the right direction - but this came about as a means of crisis management and is not an "official policy" of the HSUS.

At the end of the day, the HSUS is responsible for promoting ridiculous dog fighting "education" that is chock full of anti-Pit bull language; dangerous legislation designed to lower the level of proof needed to qualify a person as a dog fighter; and questionable "bust" operations with (unsuspecting) Law Enforcement Agencies. The organization does far too much to harm the Pit bull community to hide behind the "but we don't support BSL" badge...and because of all their mis-calculations, it is no longer just Pit bull people that are suspicious of the organization.

Why Pit bulls?

As I work to provide positive, rational, and balanced information about pit bulls, and the virtues of dogs in general, I am often (read: ALWAYS) asked why I am so taken by this breed of dog. It is a fair question that isn't always asked in a reasonable manner.

In short, I find many pit bulls to posses the qualities that I value in a canine companion: great with friendly people, loyal, goofy, energetic, athletic, intelligent, and willing. To be sure, the run-of-the-mill pit bull is a lot of dog. It is all of these qualities in a medium-sized dog that has me so taken by pit bulls.

Alas, there are many aspects of pit bull ownership that are less enjoyable. Namely, dealing with the many negative stereotypes, and the constant battle to balance the mis-information provided by the breed's detractors.
...thankfully, it only takes is a few minutes of lovin' from my doggies and I am reminded they're worth the effort.

I hope this blog gives others insight into my life with pit bulls, and most of all, provides information on the breed in general; there are a lot of misinformed generalizations about these dogs.

Please contact me with questions or comments pertaining to dogs, pit bulls, BSL, etc..

All the best,

The HSUS attempted to fund raise for the care of Micheal Vick's dogs, while at the same time suggesting that the dogs needed to be killed.

And to add insult to injury, they weren't even planning on taking possesion of the dogs.

Contact the HSUS and tell them this is unacceptable!
