And I don't see my schedule allowing for more blog-time, so it may be a while before I am back in a regular routine.

I'm not thinking of this as a "so-long post" but rather, a "it may be a while post." So, keep using this blog as a resource to other blogs and dog links.

Until then, take care.

DonovanPit bull NMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10551956059438050867noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6836626531069245520.post-84408132741574194112009-07-04T04:00:00.000-07:002009-07-08T22:39:38.150-07:00Will Be Back

Sorry for the long delay on getting something up about my absence.

I've been on vacation for some time now and did not prepare a message to indicate that I would not be posting for several weeks. But nonetheless, the Vick brand is still in play.

Honestly, I am not surprised or bothered by this move. But here are some words on the matter:
"In Bed with Monsters."

Hopefully, Micheal Vick can use his story to help deter dogfighting.

And hopefully, the HSUS will continue to be exposed as an opportunistic fundraising animal rights group that in-fact does very little good for Pit bulls, and animals in general.

The sad part about the whole mess is that I struggle to give any validity to the HSUS' attempts to battle dogfighting, and the same goes for Mike Vick.

Why?

In short, I believe they're both using dogfighting as a vehicle to get what they want:

the HSUS wants animal rights legislation in which they can shape to their agenda, which is to say nothing about the questionable fundraising campaigns based on their anti-dogfighting program;

and

Mike Vick wants his NFL career back.

It's pretty simple, really.

So here's the irony: will Micheal Vick and the HSUS ultimately share the same trajectory? And for the similar reasons?

Think about.

After years of elitist and deceiving rhetoric, the HSUS has seen better days, and while Vick's fall may have come damn near overnight, Wane & Co. continue to make one blunder after another, which at some point will lead to their downfall.

It's to the point where folks are taking notice, and it's not just Pit bull people and farmers anymore.

No, their core audience is noticing as well.

Again, think about it. The information is out there. As she tells it, the video was taken while the dog was starting to wear-out, so there is only one good "flip", but it's still fun to watch nonetheless. (Besides, that's New Zealand in the background!) Thankfully, there are also still pictures, which really show the athleticism of her doggie.

And make sure to watch the video, it gives the viewer a much better idea of what the dog is actually doing. The stills make it look like the dog is just jumping randomly, when in fact the dog is playing "fetch."

One of the many things about Pit bulls that I love to brag about is their natural athleticism. Physical ability and confidence can make for a very fun dog, and many Pit bulls have both in bulk.

So while there are many Pit bull videos showing the dogs excelling in weight pull or working the spring pole, I really enjoy when I find these types of videos and pics, which demonstrate the versatility of this breed's athleticism and enthusiasm for exercise.

Also, these pics should remind us all that energetic, athletic dogs have needs that are best met with consistent and vigorous exercise.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5314917122965980978" style="DISPLAY: block;
